TMA is able to provide FNS50615 Diploma of Financial Planning (including RG146 compliance in Superannuation & Self-Managed Superannuation) to all Accountants in a 5 Day RPL/Assessment provided they are members of a professional body with over 2 years experience.

With the co-operation of industry specialists and offering recognition of prior learning (RPL), we have been able to condense the course to 5 days at the extremely attractive introductory price of $3,995 per person. The course also comprises pre-reading, industry research and case-studies on completion of the workshop.

ASIC streamlines limited license process making it easier for Accountants to provide advice in Superannuation and Self Managed Super.

Eligibility for the 5 day course is:

  • Bachelor/Degree qualified in Accountancy
  • Be a member of a professional body ie. CPA, CA or NTAA
  • Supply example of a completed Self-Managed Super set-up or complete TMA’s case-study.

Accountants and financial advice

The ‘accountants’ exemption’ which allows accountants to provide advice on the establishment of self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF), without the need for an Australian financial services licence (AFS licence) will cease on 1 July 2016.

To replace this exemption, accountants (and other advisers) can apply for a ‘limited’ AFS licence from 1 July 2013. Those applying for this new limited AFS licence will be able to apply for authorisations to provide financial advice on SMSFs and class of product advice about:
